Hi, my name is T, short for Tierra. I am a 2 year graduate of the Yellow House. I’ll give you a brief backstory to capture the significance of this piece. I work in a studio refinishing furniture and over the past few months my over all quality of work was starting to dwindle due to several different circumstances all acting at once and a few personal areas that needed improvement. This armoire happened to be the tip of the iceberg and I ended up not following the correct instructions and I went completely off plan. It was so hard to own up and realize that I had made the mistakes and that I was being called higher. I could have gave up on the armoire and on myself but everyone I love and value we’re speaking life and encouraging not to give up and not to give in. They were saying that this moment was actually a gift from Papa because I get to grow through this. It took some perservering and uncomfortable self reflection but I can truly say that choosing to perservere through it and finish the piece was such a powerful moment. I went back everyday and faced my situation and while it may not be what it was originally intended to be; its still beautiful and it’s finished.

But that’s not all! Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!
